Peaceful refuge in Vermont

Sitting on the small pier jetting out on lake Champlain, taking refuge from rigorous travels, I sit peacefully at Sally and jack's (david's parents) bed and breakfast retreat house...


This place is amazing! I forget sometimes how important it is to relax! The soothing sound of water lapping up on the shores next to me bring me a sweet feeling of serenity!

this weekend is gonna rock

the last weeks spent editing and mixing beats antique's latest foray into sonic explosions has rendered me tired! cannot wait to unleash these new tracks on the ears of as many will listen!

i've been trying to find time for sidecar tommy songs to emerge for my upcoming sets at LIB and Hookadome benifit at 1015 folsom...i got a new tom waits remix of "make it rain" i'm workin on - last time i played it, tom's spirit actually made it rain, let's hope that doesn't happen everytime i play the damn thing!

very much looking forward to seeing alot of my friends this weekend at LIB! it's my favorite festival by far, and i'm so happy to be a part of it, the do lab never seizes to amaze me, and this is the festival that sort of lauched beats antique a couple years ago! and i dont have to explain how amazing that has been!

Beats Antique West Coast Tour with BASSNECTAR

After a month of crazy shows on the east coast opening for BASSNECTAR with many sold out shows from New Orleans to New York, Beats Antique is ready to bring it back home to the west coast and get freaky with its west coast family. Zoe Jakes cant make it out for this part of the tour but her spirit will be on the dance floor with yall. We are very excited for these next dates.

well - i am in tears right now - i truly cannot believe that this country of interesting policies and strange politics has actually elected BARACK OBAMA!

i am in boston, ma right now...on the road trying to activate and inspire some kids to take a chance and get involved...

i'm just totally suprised - even though i knew he had what it takes to inspire a nation. the corruption of the elections past and the bullshit that has plagued us as a nation has had me worried anout whether it was possible to actually elect someone that can inspire people to feel emotion and do something about it...he's about to give his acceptance speech...totally inspired!

BEATS ANTIQUE 2 hour set

so we show up at the venue, cat's cradle, and find out that for extra $$, we can play a 2 hour set - now that's great cause when you only get to play an hour a night, you never get to pull out all the tracks...
david and i just opened our macbooks and started smashing tracks - doing improvs, cutting to something totally different, making shit happen on the fly...the whole time we have to pay attention to the crowd and what's gettin them...and keep track of how much time we have left and whether lorin is gonna come out on time or push it...the best part is that the whole time we are playing people our original tracks...i'm stoked...and now to bed...

Beats Antique tour 2008

the beginning of my blog...i guess i'll start by saying that i'm constantly experiencing life from an interesting bubble - i suppose the experiences and thoughts and stories that take place could be interesting to friends and fans...

...so here it is...the beginning...i'm a traveling salesman of beats, rhythms, beautiful songs and head-bobbing exitement...

oct. 28th - 2008...a flight to raleigh, nc to continue on the east coast leg of bassnectar tour - beats antique is the opener...six hours of flying in the air taken up by watching heroes, the wire, talking with a rad flight attendent named nancy about conspieracy theories, life and the such...finalied by listening to iron and wine, jeff buckley, and coldplay...nice landing - fucking freezing!!! 28 degrees out here!!! gonna be a cold tour...here's the dates as they stand:
